The Double Scoop Writing and Photography Contest

Hey there guys!

After the ultimate fail of The Prettiest Pens Writing Contest-

-I vowed never to do a contest again. Cause with graphics like this:

I had about four signups…

Some of whom forgot to do it.

*Deep breaths* 😤😤😤

Obviously, I was pretty upset and thought “no more contest. I should just give up on contests. And blogging. And life.”

Well, after a few months, those wounds are only scars. I am getting back up. I’m trying again.

I present to you, for the very first time in ND history:

The Double Scoop Writing and Photography Challenge-

  • Revamped graphics
  • Awesome team names
  • Cool ideas
  • More cool ideas
  • Writing
  • Photography

Im very excited! Please help me have a good turnout, and post something on your blog and comment about it. Everywhere. Spread the word!!

The outline:

The Double Scoop Writing and Photography Challenge (TDSWPC) will be a WordPresswide contest for anyone. Girl, boy, adult, child, teenager, inbetweenager, and…other people.

TDSWPC will be a writing AND photography contest. I love writing, and photography is definitely #trendy so…booya. I’m cool. #shamelessselfpromo (idk this isn’t even self promotion)

I will be giving writing/picture prompts. You must use those words exactly, or as an inspiration. The photos will reflect your story, so be reasonable. If it’s a murder story, ketchup is awesome.

There will be two prompt choices. PLEASE ONLY PICK ONE!

How to Enter

It’s pretty simple! Below, comment and and say something like “I’d love to do this, etc.” Then put the team you want and a second choice (I want it to be fair)! Then tell me who you’re going to share this with-your entire blog, through a post, a comment to a friend, or telling your mom 😉. #shamelessselfpromo

You’ve got 10 days to sign up!

The Rules

  • You must be 0 seconds old or older to enter this contest
  • You must not forget about this!
  • (Gets seriousish)
  • You must be original. No “once upon a team princess Bobette met prince Bob and they kissed” the end. Of your career if you do this!!
  • You must be clean-no bad words, no SERIOUS romance (you know what I mean) and no political discrimination.
  •  NO RACISM! Unless its between unicorns and butterflies then no. No. No. No. No. No. All were created equal, I don’t want nuttin’ else.
  • Pictures don’t have to be great quality, but I don’t want a picture that looks like this:
  • Nooo. Be reasonable. I’m not asking for a 30 million accessory camera, but please.

Any and all violation of these rules will result in suspension of this contest. And, if bad enough, my blog. I have a block button and I will use it.

The Point System

The Story Judging

Your story will be judged on three categories: originality/grammar/myopinion. Also on how much it stays with the prompt.

  • Originality-take these promts like never before. There is a possible three points in this category. 1 Point: unoriginal, flat/ 2 Points: Somewhat interesting, not gripping/3 Points: couldn’t put it down! Never seen anything like it!
  • Grammar-punctuation, your worst nightmare. I will be gracious, we can’t be perfect grammarateers! There is a possible three points in this category. 1 Point: horrible grammar, missused punctuation/ 2 Points: not bad, but is sloppy and had no polishing/ 3 Points: beautiful! The commas were there, and you had a conversation start and stop without a hitch. Sweet!
  • My Opinion-this is just my thought, and how well it stays with the promt. So, good luck. There are a possible three points in this category. 1 Point:Umm, I hated it/ 2 Points: it was good. Not my fave, but not bad/3 Points: ahhh fangirl love it so much memorize it luuuv it. ‘Nuff said.

The Photography Judging

Your photograph will be judged on three categories: originality, quality, how it goes with your story.

  • Originality-have I seen the same ol blue sky mumbo jumbo? Or is it a riveting sunset unlike any other? There are three possible points in this category: 1 Point: umm, I’ve seen that before. And that. And that. 2 Points: I’ve seen this a few times but not like this. Not bad/ 3 Points: ooh, it’s new, colorful, and riveting.
  • Quality-is it junk or is it filled with colors and feeling? There are a possible three points in this category: 1 Point: blurry and brown. The colors are bleh/ 2 Points: Good quality, and quite a few colors/ 3 Points: a large variety of colors, not blurry, and focused.
  • How It Goes with the Story-does it make me think “oh, this is that story” or “what?” There are a possible three points in this category: 1 Point: this goes with this? HOW?/ 2 Points: this ties in. I guess…/ 3 Points: this is like a summary. Picture worth a thousand words ☑

THATS A POSSIBLE HIGH SCORE OF 18 POINTS/PERSON!!

And now, what you’ve ALL been waiting for: the teams! There are ten days to sign up!

    *Yumm*

    Ooooh, delicious!

    *Nuff said*

Shakin’ it up! Pistachio ice cream dislike is such a cliche, it’s seriously not that bad. I have tried it myself. And that was the only green ice cream I could find, sorry…it looks like sorbet #icecreamexpert

    Those are the four teams!

Which one will you be on?

You have ten days to sign up!

Will you enter? What’s your favorite team? Are you excited? Did you hear about the Prettiest Pens Writing Contest?

      2. Chocolate or Vinilla Sunday (however you spell that). (Chocolate is my 1# choice)

Also, I’m using a different computar so please understand if I can’t do the picture, I’ll do my best to add it in everytime. Do I just post the entry’s (after you do the promats in a week or two) on my website or do they go in the comments?

BTW sorry about the PPWC. When I entered I just relized I had no time and I didn’t really understand it (I had no idea what promt was, btw you spelled it prompt once), but now I do and I’ll do mty best. 🙂 YAY!!!

      3. I’d love to enter! (I promise not to forget like last time, oops) I’ll do a story since I’m a horrible photographer, and I’d like to be on Team Pistachio (I’ve never tried pistachio ice cream, but no one else is picking it, so I thought why not). If that’s not possible, Team Vanilla Sundae is good too. (:
By the way, when is the first prompt?

        Hugs xox, ML ♡
